Black Star, Bright Dawn

The scene that I liked the best was at the end of the book when Bright Dawn won $2,500.  She won the money because she had the best sportsmanship out of all the racers in the Iditarod.  Ralph Stone reported her helping a friend and her dogs.  Ms. Jacobs reported her taking her time to find and put up the lost trail marker.  Bright Dawn came in last place, which was 35th place.  She got a red lantern which stood for being in last place.  The girl from Willow Creek came in 1st place. When Bright Dawn crossed the finish line, her dad was clapping really loud, and her mom was crying.  Her parents moved back to Womengo, and Bright Dawn was going to Anchorage to study to be a teacher.  I think that Bright Dawn will use the $2,500 she won to help pay for college in Anchorage.
