Rose Wenzell
Aurora Pathfinders - Grades 5/6
2007

I teach fifth and sixth grade Connected Math. I am a member of the Aurora Pathfinders Team. Our team is divided into five homerooms consisting of students in grades 5 and 6. We meet in our homerooms for attendance, announcements, and morning meeting. Then students go to grade level academic classes. Once a week we have an All Team Meeting with all of the fifth and sixth graders. We talk about issues important to all of us, participate in team building activities, have celebrations, and make plans together. I love teaching middle school students, and my goal is make a positive difference in my students learning. During my free time I enjoy being with my family and friends, traveling, working on the computer, and walking.

Connected Mathematics Project (CMP) provides students with an investigative approach to learning math. This complete mathematics curriculum for grades 6–8 helps students to utilize interactive problems and motivating everyday situations to learn math concepts. At Addison Northwest Supervisory Union we start teaching Connected Math in grade 5 to ensure that the students will have completed the sixth grade curriculum when entering the seventh grade.

Please check out these links to understand more about the connected math. This is also a link to help students and parents understand homework assignments.
