The board of
school directors recognizes that the key to a successful educational program
is a well-trained, competent staff dedicated to professional growth. The goal of the
professional development program is to provide improved learning experiences
in the classroom, which result in a positive effect on student performance
and attitude. Utilizing staff involvement, the professional development
process consists of identifying the areas in which improvement is needed and
establishing programs that are designed to achieve the desired results. In accordance
with Act 60 of the 1997 Session of the General Assembly, the professional
development system shall be designed, after research and data collection, to
enhance the skills and abilities of staff to improve student performance in
relation to the Vermont Framework or comparable standards. |
