In order to enhance the quality and effectiveness of school governance, members of the board are encouraged to participate in professional activities such as school board workshops and conferences sponsored by regional, state, or national educational associations. The board shall be responsible for necessary expenses of its members attending such activities. To help members
develop understanding of the educational program, members of the professional
staff will be requested to appear before the board to present and discuss
various areas of curriculum and instruction. The superintendent may also
provide board training sessions. Each
new member of the board will be afforded every opportunity to become oriented
to the functions and responsibilities of the board and its members (as soon
as practicable. ACS) |
