Receptionist/Student Services Assistant (VUES)

Vergennes Union Elementary School is seeking a school-year Receptionist and Student Services Assistant. Job responsibilities include: answering phones, communicating via email, assisting the administrative team, acquiring substitute educators as needed, supporting execution and dissemination of the weekly newsletter, tracking student attendance, and facilitating the daily transportation of students, in addition to other tasks as assigned.

Position requires: ability to effectively interact with the public, strong attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, proficiency with multiple computer applications or the ability to efficiently master them, strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work as a team-member in a fast-paced work environment.   

This position is a school-year only position, beginning in mid-August and ending in mid-June each year. The hours for the position will be 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Only complete applications submitted through www.schoolspring.com will be considered. SCHOOL NURSE (.80 FTE)

The Ferrisburgh Central School is seeking a School Nurse (.80 FTE) for the 2017-18 school year. 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• current, valid Vermont RN license

• CPR and First Aid certified

• several years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community/family centered nursing 

Areas of student health care responsibilities include:

• assessment

• first aid

• health screening

• medication administration

• assist in communicable disease control

• immunization assessment

• attend student meetings as necessary

• assessment and care of students with special needs

Additional areas of responsibilities include:

• compilation of statistical information

• maintenance of health and medication records/logs

• accident reporting

• member of the Wellness and Safety Teams

• student/staff emergency card maintenance

• preparation of required state reports

• providing staff and parents with information of school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information

• providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents

• promoting a healthy school environment

A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, but school nurses holding an associate’s degree in nursing will be considered. The ideal candidate will also have excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.



ELEMENTARY TEACHERS (Vergennes)

Addison Northwest School District has three (3) Elementary Teacher openings located at Vergennes Union Elementary School.

 Grades 4 and 6 with a focus on English Language Arts and Social Studies:

The successful candidate should be experienced with the Daily Five and or the Reading and Writing Workshop modes, knowledge of the an integrated spelling program as well as the Common Core Standards for third through seventh grade. VUES is seeking a person with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. They should have a collaborative approach to teaching and be familiar with the use of assessment data to determine instructional practices to use in the classroom. VUES uses a blended model of Responsive Classroom and PBIS.

 Grade 2:

The successful candidate should be experienced with the Daily Five and or the Reading and Writing Workshop modes, using the Bridges math curriculum, knowledge of the Fundations program as well as the Common Core Standards for first through third grade. VUES is seeking a person with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. VUES uses a blended model of Responsive Classroom and PBIS.



LIBRARY MEDIA INFORMATION SPECIALIST (.55 FTE)

The Addison Northwest School District is seeking a Library Media Information Specialist (.55 FTE) in our elementary schools for the 2017-18 school year. 

The LMIS manages the Library Media Information Center and provides media, information, and information technology support services to school teachers, staff, students and parents. He/she also promotes literacy and the enjoyment of reading. The LMIS teaches research, reading, and information skills including digital literacy and 21st century skills. The successful candidate will also be skilled at working with classroom teachers by providing professional development to design, implement and evaluate learning activities, units and projects that effectively use information resources and a wide variety of technology to transform student learning. The LMIS leads beyond the library and participates in setting the district vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners.

Interested candidates will have licenses in School Librarian (61) and Educational Technology Specialist (42) (or willingness to pursue)



ANWSD Food Service Cooperative

School Nutrition Manager – High School – 35-40 hours/week

Feed students well! School nutrition manager needed to manage high school nutrition program with multiple serving lines and menus. Daily responsibilities of planning, preparing and serving healthy breakfast and lunch to students and adults using wholesome fresh foods.  Lead a team to bring good nutrition as well as food education to the school community.  Excellent scratch cooking skills needed along with detail oriented planning and organizational skills to efficiently manage meal preparation, food ordering, inventory, program reporting and accounting, as well as catering. Must love working with kids and creating community with food.

School Nutrition Cook Assistants – High School – 30-35 hours/week

Work as part of a team in a fun, fast paced kitchen environment.

Lots of scratch cooking and daily preparation of fresh foods as well as line service, cashier duties, and clean up. Must love cooking and food and be able to work efficiently and quickly to get the job done. Previous kitchen work including knife skills and use of commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.  Looking for someone who wants to feed students and staff well so they can all learn and thrive in school.
